The Word of the Day comes from "SLADE HOUSE" by David Mitchell which is the penultimate novel in the DavidMitchellathon that Nat and I are reading.
ORISON
Orison is an archaic word used for a prayer to a deity. The word comes from Latin meaning to speak. You would be hard pressed to find this word in regular use today outside of a poem or play such as "Romeo and Juliet"
Juliet before deceiving her parents says "I have need of many orisons".
